Now you have a lot of planning ahead of you. Gifts, an engagement ring, travel, preparing your home and life for your new bride, informing your relatives and friends and many more things to do.

Typically you also start to financially support your future wife. You don’t need to send her exorbitant amounts of funny money but you should send her day to day funds to treat herself to getting her nails and hair done, going out to coffee with friends, or whatever it is she likes to do. You want her and the people around her to see your intentions are serious.

I sent my future wife money so she could treat her mom and dad out occasionally, get her nails and hair done, and have clothes made at a tailor. I also paid for her to apprentice with a professional nail care and stylist. She happened to like fashion so these were things I could enable her to do that she never could have on her own. She never asked me for money, but I provided for her so she would see that I was a caretaker.

You also need to start your immigration paperwork. Don’t underestimate the work required because there’s a lot of reading, writing, forms and documentation needed. You will need to prove your relationship is real and serious. So keep copies of all your receipts and communications, photos together when you visit, etc.

We help you through this process as well. A mistake here could, in the worst cast scenario, put your bride to be on a ten year immigration black list. While we can’t give legal advice, we can look over your shoulder and blink once for yes, and twice for no.
